Spring flowers and April showers

It has been so beautiful around here lately with everything that is in full bloom thanks to our very early Spring. My husband (IMHO) is very talented when it comes to taking pictures. He just has the eye for it and for that I am thankful. It really comes in handy when I need pictures for my blog or scrapbook layouts ..lol I mean I can point a camera and shoot like a group shot or of a person but he sees things through that lens in such cool ways.So I wanted to take today to show off his talent and bring a little Spring sunshine to everyone's day. It is raining here today, we are expecting a storm anytime now. We need the rain badly but I could do without the storm...lol
Anyway, enjoy some of my favorite pictures of our flowers in bloom and have a great Saturday.

red paperclips,a concert and Alice Cooper

This has got to be the most genius idea I have come across in awhile. This guy Simon, is starting with two red paperclips ,and is going to attempt to keep trading them up until he gets a house for them eventually. I think that is the coolest idea I have heard in a very long time, don't you think? Now I will start by saying his idea is not an original one ,but he does not take credit for it being either. He has a link to the original one on his blog and I will have it for you later on in this post. There are two reasons I am posting about this. One ,of course, because I think it is a very cool idea and want to try and help him out by giving him exposure ,and two he is my tenant this week. After clicking his blog and reading about it I HAD to have him stay here this week. I am going to blogroll him , and keep up with his journey. So far, after only three days of the start of his adventure ,he got a trade proposition of concert tickets...Well not tickets but access for two to a concert. It sounds like a cool start to me....I wish him all the best. Please take a moment of your time if you can and go over and check out his page. It is very new and a standard template right now. He is also looking for help with that as well if any of you are willing to either give him some tips or help him out by creating him a cool template, I am sure he would be forever grateful.

I was checking out Kyle's page, he is the original guy that thought of this thing I think ( as far as I can tell anyway) He has traded up quite a bit from one paperclip. Right now he is at a day to hang out with Alice Cooper. Wouldn't that be awesome? Alice Cooper is a heavy metal rockstar turned Christian...I would love to have a long talk with him about his testimony.. It would be very cool. I have heard that he even does alter calls after his concerts.. God is just cool isn't he... Alice Cooper is helping someone get a years free rent in her duplex for this project... I think that is just awesome.The original guy has pictures and even some video of his trades on his site...If you would like to check him out just click here <--- ( but please do not do so before paying a visit to my tenant first. I usually do not like to link to anothers site while trying to get my tenant some visits, but it was too cool not to. my 1st Wordless Wednesday

Today's Miracle

I know God is with us every second of everyday. I know that God is awesome and I recognize that in little things daily. Sometimes though I get busy or thinking about other things and forget to stop and realize just how majestic and powerful He really, really is. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying I forget or am unaware...I am saying that some things make you stop and reflect this fact a little more then others.. Like the Holy spirit is like " Look,look what he has done...our God is truely an awesome God."I woke up to this on the news this morning and felt so bad for this guy.He had collided with and eighteen wheeler and his whole car was trapped under the bed of the truck.You can see that here. When I turned the channel they were bringing in that crane to lift the car so they could get the guy out. I was thinking to myself, oh my gosh there is no way anyone is alive under there. That is terrible , what a way to die.

Well, Gup came home to have lunch with me and told me that they pulled that guy out and he was awake,alert and talking to the people ,and that he had been life flighted to the hospital. I thought you know what. God is awesome. He is doing things in the spiritual relm that are so wayyyyy beyond our human understanding. So many times things look totally impossible to us humans but nothing is impossible with God. I am so happy this guy lived through this. I pray he recovers and heals quickly , but most of all that he sees the Glory of God through this.I know I did....

Here is him being rescued ( it's not bloody or nasty). So today and everyday I say Praise God!!! ...He is awesome. Please join me in praying for this man's recovery and most of all his relationship with God. I pray that where ever he is in that relatonship that is strengthened through this.

Farts, nipples, and Chocolate Oh My!!!

I LOST 20 lbs with my surgery...YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH (that makes a total of 38 lbs. so far) I am so excited I could fart ... Oh wait that is because of the gas from the surgery..lol Man surgery makes you fart a lot ..lol And has anyone else had the problem of nipples staying hard all the time after surger? I am always having THO now and it was not that big a problem before... Just wondering if anyone else noticed that little surgery side effect?..lol

Anyway, that was not what I wanted your attention for,it was for my renter.. Wannabe TV Chef is my tenant this week and he is having problems with his thumbnail so it doesn't even look like I am renting to anyone. He posts the most yummy looking recipes... I am such a sucker for good recipes too .. that is why I had to choose him this week. He had me at this one the first time I seen it. MMMMMMMMMM

Chocolate Bread and Butter pudding... My oh my .. I would not be loosing weight around this guy!! So if you would please go over and pay him a little visit for me and don't forget to tell him Storms sent ya!!! Go one get over there ... whatcha waitin' for?

I'm out and about,my weekend so far!

I am finally able to get out and about which is GREAT!!! I was starting to get stir crazy even though it had only been a week. I tell you , sunshine does wonders for the mood and spirit doesn't it? Sunshine and fresh outdoor air...

We went to see Guppy's Grammy Friday night and she took us out to eat at Red Lobster. It had been awhile since eating there so it was a nice change from the usual Mexican that we end up at ..lol ( Guppy's favorite) ... I love visiting his Grammy , she is such a neat woman. It always amazes me how sharp her mind and her memory are at 86 years old...
It is cool listening to the stories that she loves to tell... You can learn so much from elderly people if you just take the time to listen.

Well we went after that to Mighty Mite's house to feed and water her cats while her and the professor are out frolicking around Georgia... Mighty ordered the professor's birthday present and wanted us to swing by and pick them up and try them out ... She bought him two light sabers ,so of course Guppy was more than willing. lol

He now ( until they come back ) has a red one( Darth Vader's) a green one ( Luke Skywalker's) and his blue Anakin one...Him and little one have had a ball with them .. I think they have been quality tested quite thoroughly..lol

Maybe we can get a video of all three of them going and post it soon. I know the last video was a hit.

Let's see...Saturday we got out and went and visited Gup's sister and her family..
Crabgirl( sister-in-law),Critter (her daughter), Fire Man ( her hubby)...
We all ended up going to Cracker Barrel for brunch.It was a good time as always.Good company. We seem to be forming a trend i have noticed. Before the surgery we went out to eat mid day on Saturday twice in a row and then this Saturday. It is kind of cool though. As close as we live ( right down the road) we hardly see each other besides holidays... That is just silly don't ya think? It is not because we don't like each other either... I think life just gets to busy sometimes. So our new found Saturday brunch dates are pretty cool.
They all had tickets to go see the 'Stros that night .... BOOOOO!!!! just kidding ...I am jealous but happy for them :) I couldn't go right now if I could afford it anyway...I don't think I am up for that yet.


Saturday evening my best friend Astrosprincess came by and we grilled out and watched the game between doing Mad libs with lil one ... It was fun, lil one is a riot with those things.We got some good laughs with those. Princess stayed till midnight...It was kind of cool, it's been a very long time since I had a friend just come chill with me until midnight. She is the best :)

Today is Sunday and we are about to go to church....I will get off here so I can go brush my hair and put on my face. Afterwards lil one is really wanting to scrapbook her birthday party and Libby Lu's and she wants to do a layout of Gizmo, so I think that will be my afternoon..If she gets a layout finished I will post it!

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen random things about Present Storm 1. I am excited to be out of the hospital and still in awe of how great God is and the fact that my kidney went undamaged. 2. I am excited that I now can wipe my own butt again ..lol 3. Thankful that I have a hubby that is awesome enough to have done it for me until I could again. 4. I am glad that I am taking less and less pain pills and hope to not need them at all very soon ( like within days ). 5. Think it is very VERY cool that Guppy's ex wife came up and brought little one to see me while I was in the hospital. Little one was freaked out because all of the tubes I was hooked to. 6. I am excited to get her back tomorrow ...especially so she can see me getting around good and with NO tubes. I miss her. She really has a way of brightening your day. 7. I miss having Guppy home with me but bills have to get paid somehow. 8. I wish my managers at work cared more about how I was doing but I won't let the fact that only one of them has asked about me get me down. 9. I am taking it easy and not feeling bad about it in the slightest...They can figure it out..lol 10. The Stros are doing awesome. They have won every series so far.I really hope they go all the way to win the World Series this year. I think it is our year. 11. I can not wait to get to another game... 12. Yeah I am back home...

( what was keeping me from starving and hurting more then I wanted to ..lol)


I am back home and feeling pretty well,considering...I will fill everyone in and talk a little more later ... As of now I can not stay in any one position for to long of a time without hurting..So I am off to move around some..I hope everyone had a great Easter!!

The Juice Box..& Surgery

So Saturday Guppy,little one, Astrosprincess, and I went to Minute Maid Park to watch the Astros play the Nationals. Like I said before it was my very first time...( I only recently discovered ( last year towards the end of the season) That I LOVE baseball.I was so excited to go...Man, when we got there and I looked down and could see our team practicing I was like a kid on Christmas... It was this huge rush of excitement .. It was awesome.. It was also very cool being around that many fans rooting for the same team!!! Although we got so lucky as to have four people sitting right behind us that were National fans..grrrrr They were talking smack about everyone of our players especially Craig Biggio....Man, I wanted to turn around and smack every one of them. Biggio is an awesome player and yes he is the oldest one on the team , but he is STILL kickin butt...I do know that unless I had different seats I could not watch the games at the park all season... On the tv you get close ups ..you can see them in the dugout...who is warming up in the bullpen...you can see thier faces( which is a huge plus for our team ;), man we have some hotties on the Astros) We had alot of people walking back and forth up the isles and stopping right in front of us .I did not get to see Berkman hit his homer that game :( I did hear it and stand up and get to see him run the bases home though :).. Anyway ..It was an awesome time and I am so glad that I went...
I am in a hurry so I am not going to proof read this post..So please excuse any spelling errors...I am about to go to the airport to pick up my mom and mema!!! I am so excited... Tomorrow is the big day ...MY SURGERY!! I am so ready to get this behind us...Thanks to you for all your prayers, again!!! I will see you guys when I get back home...* Hugs *

P.S. Even though we lost 12 to 8 that day ...WE WON THE LAST TWO GAMES...beating them in the series...This is the second series we took !!!!

GO STROS!!!!!!!!!!!

We were loosing so badly that day they had to get volunteers to be pinch hitters... Lil one tried it and knocked one outta the park for the Stros..lol

I know it has been awhile...

This week has been busy...with watching the Stros and getting ready for my mother and grandmother to fly in for my surgery I have very little time to blog..I did however get to go to my very first Major League baseball game Saturday...Man what a blast....The Stos lost that game but they kicked some Nationals butt today!!! I will blog more about the game tomorrow hopefully and show ya some pics...I hope atleast some of you like baseball ...because I have a feeling my blog will be about the Stros quite a bit this season :)

Good morning world!!! I hate loosing an hour...but that is not what I am here to talk about this morning. I am here to talk about my new tenant. I have never seen her blog before {I do not think}. I went to look at who made bids and hers was the first thumbnail that caught my eye ,so I clicked and read...and laughed and laughed...lol
I can so see that story happening in this household. Has anyones husband set out to do a project and got a little to over ambitious? LOL That has happened here and in the bathroom like hers did. As a matter of fact it still isn't done over here { sorry honey ..lol}..lol


Her story telling is great. I was cracking up. If you need a good laugh today I encourage you to go read about her hubby's bathroom renovation antics..lol

I found these fun recipes one day while surfing... I decided to hold on to them until today's post. I thought it was most fitting.I think they are so cool. I am most likely to make the grilled cheese looking one though . The pot pie looked way to involved...
