What a Goober!!!

Well I have no great story and I can't decide what to write about so it is going to be another random thought post...

First off ..we were at the grocery store last night and I found out that Guppy has never had Smucker's Goober before.I was shocked.Poor Guppy has been so deprived. He told me he has never been able to get anyone to buy it for him.Well being the loving wife that I am ...I bought him some of course.(still wondering why he never bought any himself?) Do any of you remember this stuff?:

Next we are still trying to figure out how to teach lil one not to lie about EVERYTHING.That has been quite the task. She lied about a stupid nacho last night.
We still have not figured out why .Mainly because the answer to EVERYTHING for her is "I don't know". Apparently she "doesn't know " just about anything you ask her.

on a lighter note here are some phrases she used yesterday that we thought funny and odd.She says she just made them up herself.Who knows....

she said "I am will just get straight up evil on you" ( WTH?..we are very curious where that phrase come from.I am going to venture to guess she did NOT come up with that one alone. My guess would be a cartoon.

she said "she did not have one entire clue" ( she only had a partial clue apparently..lol)

She was telling me that this little boy named Cooper was a "hottie"..I was like oh really ...I asked her if she knew what it meant and she said it meant he was so funny ...lol I asked her where she got that from and she said her aunt said cooper was a "hottie".

I got my lab results back from my thyroid level testing and they were all in normal level range.WOOT, WOOT...Praise God for that. They said they were borderline high and he just wanted to see me in 3 months.Easy enough and a relief..

I go tomorrow to talk to the Urologist...please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

I am having a blast getting a care package ready for Brian and Matt.Brian said I would really make his day if I sent some homemade peanut butter fudge...Oh boy ..He would ask for something I have never made in my life ,nor do I have a recipe for..lol
Luckily my best friend's grandmother has a recipe for some and she got that for me.
Nicole also made some very yummy oatmeal raisin cookies to send them. They are soooo good.Guppy is a very picky cookie eater and she had to make him his own little stash of them ...Which he did not share at all I might add..lol
Anyway , I will be attempting this fudge today so we can get the box sent out tomorrow morning before I go to the doctor.Wish me luck.I am praying the fudge comes out perfectly.

Today we are going over to clean my MIL house and possibly shoot off lil ones rockets. If there is no wind we may just have blast off.

Oh yeah and I am counting down till my birthday ...I will be turning 31 this Friday. We are going to have a birthday party on Saturday...I am excited.I have not had a birthday party since I moved here in 2002.I am all about the birthday parties:)

And last but most certainly NOT least...February 15th will mark my one year anniversary of my decision to quit smoking ...Yeahhhhhh smoke free for a whole year.
I can say that I have felt so much better too...I have more energy and I most definitely smell and breathe better :) YEAHHHHH ME!!!!!

  5. I love the hottie comment. The other day in the car, my little one repeated the fact that the guy in front of us can "kiss her butt". Apparently I was guilty of using that idiom at some point. Oops.

    Visiting from Michele's.

  6. Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog with the romantic suggestion.

So you're a scrapbooker?? Me too! I would think I'd died and gone to heaven if my husband built me a huge scrapbooking area! How cool!

    Come back and visit anytime!

  7. Who are you letting that young one hang out with? Yeks!

On the fudge: The fudge will set up best on a day with low humidity. Make sure to use your candy therometer or let it boil, stirring constantly, for five full minutes. Make sure it is a rolling boil. If you do this the fudge should set up perfectly. Good luck. If it turns out, please post the recipe. My husband loves peanut butter and fudge.

You had so much great news Present Storm, I'm overwhelmed! Congrats! on the normal test results! (I will say a prayer that the urologist has nothing but good news for you as well) Good luck with the fudge. mmmm...Do we get to see a picture of it? :-) Congrats! on one year smoke-free! I know how hard it is to quit and stick with it! This is a great reason to celebrate, right along with you're Birthday party!

I love the sayings kids come up with. I try and quiz my kids about different quips, and they can never give me nothing but vague indications of where they came from.

I think every kid goes through a lying phase. (It can be a little bewildering) I've no doubt that you and Guppyman will get her through it unscathed.

    Great post Present Storm!

    :-)3T
PS. My sensibilities about food not touching, has kept me from ever purchasing the jelly and peanut butter mixed. ;-)

  9. we should get our daughters together... mine uses "i don't know" way too much, just because she knows she won't get into trouble by answering that!*sigh*

  10. Congrats on the 1 year mark! That's awesome. On another note, I love when kid's try so hard to be 'grown-up' to break away from literal speech, yet they're not quite big enough to get it. My three-year old was thrilled to tell us all about his 'girlfriend' the other day. We're assuming he picked up the concept from hearing my brother refer to his. Anyway, we asked my son if he knew what that meant. He looked at us like we were idiots - "Sure, she's a girl and she's my friend. Just like B is my boy friend."

My hubby has been asking me to buy that gobber stuff.

My youngest lies alot and now he is stealing small stuff, like lighters, cards. I keep talking to him about it, but he also doesn't know.

Fudge can be tricky, let us know how it comes out.

    31 your just a puppy!

    and congratulations!!!

  16. I totally remember that stuff. Us underpriveledged kids didn't get it that often, but I managed to get some a few times.

Kids say the funniest things sometimes, and you just have to wonder where they get it all.

I want some of those goodies! I insist you share!

WOOO HOOO about the thyroid news. Fabulous! And girl, I was I was there to hang out for your birthday, I hope you have a blast.

WTG on quiting smoking, that's not an easy thing to do and you've kept with it. Your body will thank you for it. :o)

  17. Oh. My. Gosh!! I totally remember Goober!!! I also remember they had one that was called Goober Bean or something and it was peanut butter and chocolate. You ROCK! I wish I would have thought to post about Goober peanut butter. :)

Next, good luck with little one. The lying thing is so hard for kids to learn sometimes. Love her phrases, too. :)

I totally want to send something to Matt and Brian. If you think they wouldn't care, I'd love to have their address. I think it is awesome that you made up a care package! Matt and Brian are great guys!

I'm so happy your thyroid levels were within normal range. One prayer answered.

Happy early birthday....and....CONGRATS on the almost one year smoke free anniversary! Must be a great feeling of accomplishment!
