You Bless Me

It has been awhile since I've blogged. Does anyone still blog anymore? I used to blog daily and look forward to visiting all my blog friends. It seems to have died down a lot since social media has ramped up in the last few years. I do still enjoy a good blog here and there though, but its not the same, for sure.

Anyway.. I am not sure anyone ever comes across this blog anymore but I felt like posting a card I made last night because, well, it's been awhile.

I recently, as in just this year, discovered a digital stamp company called The Paper Shelter. They have some of the cutest digi stamps. I used  to be intimidated by images with so much detail, but now I prefer them. It was after TONS of practicing my coloring that I started to want to be challenged to do the detailed stuff. I have to admit that this one was definitely challenging but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I had fun making this card too. I brought out a paper pack that I forgot I had that is called tattered and worn by the paper studio. It had the perfect feel to it to compliment this image. I also raided by scrap paper drawer and was able to use up a few pieces. I thought using thread was more than appropriate being she is a seamstress..lol The cheesecloth I took from a tile project hubby was working on in our main bathroom. he won't miss it. ;)

I got inky this Easter weekend and created this card. I bought this stamp awhile back from Walmart online of all places. I knew I loved the stamp when I went looking for it to buy, but was intimidated by it. I never know how to color animals, really, and it seemed to have so much going on. I have to say though... I started off coloring the rooster first, then the eggs and really just enjoyed the process of making it come alive with color. I really had fun making this card as well. I enjoy the fun color combo and had a great time layering and playing with flowers. It reminded me that I really need more flowers in my collection. Maybe one day.

For now.... Here is the one and only Easter card I did this year. It was for my 19 old daughter in college. I do not get to see her very often so I like to do sweet little things for her here and there to let her know I miss her and love her.

You make me melt...

Today's card features Smokin' Hot by Saturated canary. Skin is one of my favorite things to color with Copics, so I loved coloring up this one. I also had fun making her hair sassy..lol
I am taking classes over at Kit and Chowder  on hair and skin. While I feel relatively confident in my skin coloring abilities, not so much with hair. I will just have to keep practicing. That is the fun of it anyway. I did like mixing colors on this one even if I did not manage to get the individual, realistic hair strands. It's still fun I think. I had fun with mixing the patterned papers here too. It was an overall fun card. I think this may just be hubby's Valentine in a few months.

What are you creating today?

Go Team!

Today's card features a cute image by Saturated Canary called the fan. A co worker really helped me out on a project at work and I wanted to thank her. The project is baseball themed and she is a total baseball mom so I bought this digi stamp just for a card for her. I also had that baseball patch for awhile and put it to good use layering up this flower for the card. I really wanted to stay with patriotic colors but not make it too over the top. I am happy with the results. She was fun to color and play with. I can see me using her again sometime. I would love to play around with different colors.

Paper Smooches Chubby Chums

I got this stamp set recently and was wondering what in the world I would do with it. I almost always do cards with people or just a sentiment, on rare occasion. I must say- I am having fun with these cheeky little critters. They are fun and quick to color and make for a cute little card. They always make me smile when I see creations with them.

I thought I would share what I have done with them so far...

The first one is the chick and I thought she was screaming for a cute little bow in her hair.
This card actually came together very quickly.

The next one is the adorable cow. I knew right away I wanted to do her in an unconventional color. I decided to give her some pretty blue googly eyes with lashes..lol and a bow as well.

Any Walking Dead or Daryl Dixon Fans?

This card was fun to make. I got to play around with a bunch of inking and stamping to make the back ground papers. I also inked up the cheesecloth to distress and "dirty" it up a bit.
This zombie girl from Saturated Canary is super adorable. I was psyched to play around with unconventional skin color and make her look un dead. I also wanted a funky hair color and got inspiration from a Google search to do her hair a cool radioactive looking green color. I will probably color her a few more times in different color combos. She is one to play around with different effects.
She is called arrow zombie and can be purchased over at Saturated Canary. She is only open until August where she is going to close the shop. It is so sad :(    She is one my very favorite artists.

What do you think? Who is your favorite TWD character? I am not sure I have just one... I like many for different reasons.

Gorjuss- Ruby

This is my fist Gorjuss stamp and I am in love! I think I need them all now..lol Not really, but I do have my eye on a few of them at the moment. I see adding a few more to the collection in the near future. I mean, what is not to love, right? Just adorable.

So, I received this cutie in the mail yesterday and immediately inked her up. Squeeee! She was so much fun to color. She took me about 2.5 hours to finish, but it was worth it. I just cranked some tunes and went to coloring. I think I used a record number of Copics to achieve this look though. lol It was harder than I thought to try and keep her more muted and toned down. I usually go bright and vibrant. I welcomed the challenge though.

Do you own any Gorjuss stamps? If so, what is your favorite?
