You Bless Me

It has been awhile since I've blogged. Does anyone still blog anymore? I used to blog daily and look forward to visiting all my blog friends. It seems to have died down a lot since social media has ramped up in the last few years. I do still enjoy a good blog here and there though, but its not the same, for sure.

Anyway.. I am not sure anyone ever comes across this blog anymore but I felt like posting a card I made last night because, well, it's been awhile.

I recently, as in just this year, discovered a digital stamp company called The Paper Shelter. They have some of the cutest digi stamps. I used  to be intimidated by images with so much detail, but now I prefer them. It was after TONS of practicing my coloring that I started to want to be challenged to do the detailed stuff. I have to admit that this one was definitely challenging but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I had fun making this card too. I brought out a paper pack that I forgot I had that is called tattered and worn by the paper studio. It had the perfect feel to it to compliment this image. I also raided by scrap paper drawer and was able to use up a few pieces. I thought using thread was more than appropriate being she is a seamstress..lol The cheesecloth I took from a tile project hubby was working on in our main bathroom. he won't miss it. ;)

I got inky this Easter weekend and created this card. I bought this stamp awhile back from Walmart online of all places. I knew I loved the stamp when I went looking for it to buy, but was intimidated by it. I never know how to color animals, really, and it seemed to have so much going on. I have to say though... I started off coloring the rooster first, then the eggs and really just enjoyed the process of making it come alive with color. I really had fun making this card as well. I enjoy the fun color combo and had a great time layering and playing with flowers. It reminded me that I really need more flowers in my collection. Maybe one day.

For now.... Here is the one and only Easter card I did this year. It was for my 19 old daughter in college. I do not get to see her very often so I like to do sweet little things for her here and there to let her know I miss her and love her.

You make me melt...

Today's card features Smokin' Hot by Saturated canary. Skin is one of my favorite things to color with Copics, so I loved coloring up this one. I also had fun making her hair sassy..lol
I am taking classes over at Kit and Chowder  on hair and skin. While I feel relatively confident in my skin coloring abilities, not so much with hair. I will just have to keep practicing. That is the fun of it anyway. I did like mixing colors on this one even if I did not manage to get the individual, realistic hair strands. It's still fun I think. I had fun with mixing the patterned papers here too. It was an overall fun card. I think this may just be hubby's Valentine in a few months.

What are you creating today?

Go Team!

Today's card features a cute image by Saturated Canary called the fan. A co worker really helped me out on a project at work and I wanted to thank her. The project is baseball themed and she is a total baseball mom so I bought this digi stamp just for a card for her. I also had that baseball patch for awhile and put it to good use layering up this flower for the card. I really wanted to stay with patriotic colors but not make it too over the top. I am happy with the results. She was fun to color and play with. I can see me using her again sometime. I would love to play around with different colors.

Paper Smooches Chubby Chums

I got this stamp set recently and was wondering what in the world I would do with it. I almost always do cards with people or just a sentiment, on rare occasion. I must say- I am having fun with these cheeky little critters. They are fun and quick to color and make for a cute little card. They always make me smile when I see creations with them.

I thought I would share what I have done with them so far...

The first one is the chick and I thought she was screaming for a cute little bow in her hair.
This card actually came together very quickly.

The next one is the adorable cow. I knew right away I wanted to do her in an unconventional color. I decided to give her some pretty blue googly eyes with lashes..lol and a bow as well.

Any Walking Dead or Daryl Dixon Fans?

This card was fun to make. I got to play around with a bunch of inking and stamping to make the back ground papers. I also inked up the cheesecloth to distress and "dirty" it up a bit.
This zombie girl from Saturated Canary is super adorable. I was psyched to play around with unconventional skin color and make her look un dead. I also wanted a funky hair color and got inspiration from a Google search to do her hair a cool radioactive looking green color. I will probably color her a few more times in different color combos. She is one to play around with different effects.
She is called arrow zombie and can be purchased over at Saturated Canary. She is only open until August where she is going to close the shop. It is so sad :(    She is one my very favorite artists.

What do you think? Who is your favorite TWD character? I am not sure I have just one... I like many for different reasons.

Gorjuss- Ruby

This is my fist Gorjuss stamp and I am in love! I think I need them all now..lol Not really, but I do have my eye on a few of them at the moment. I see adding a few more to the collection in the near future. I mean, what is not to love, right? Just adorable.

So, I received this cutie in the mail yesterday and immediately inked her up. Squeeee! She was so much fun to color. She took me about 2.5 hours to finish, but it was worth it. I just cranked some tunes and went to coloring. I think I used a record number of Copics to achieve this look though. lol It was harder than I thought to try and keep her more muted and toned down. I usually go bright and vibrant. I welcomed the challenge though.

Do you own any Gorjuss stamps? If so, what is your favorite?

Welcome Lillee- Grey

My friend had her first baby and named her Lillee-Grey. She loves elephants and ended up doing the baby room in elephants and pink and gray. I knew I wanted to make her a card and personalize it. I saw this super cute digi on Mo Manning's Digital Pencil Too site called,I forgot, and knew it was the one that I HAD to use to make her card. This elephant makes me smile. What a cutie. Isn't the sweetest little thing? I really had fun coloring this little one up. I will have to find another use for it soon. :)

I love you more than Coffee...

And that is saying a latte!

heheheeh I love this new to me image from Mo Manning over at Digital Pencil Too. I saw this beauty on their Fb page late one night and had to do a little 2am shopping from bed by phone. lol Sometimes I love technology and sometimes it can be dangerous to be able to purchase something that easily. :)
I am sure a lot of you can relate. I love and I mean LOVE me some coffee and I know some other coffee lovers so this image was a must have for me. She was easy and so much fun to color. I really enjoyed myself. I am actually about to color her up again with a different color scheme. I can see me using this to make quite a few cards.

Doesn't she just make you want to smile? I know she does me. I love the sentiment that comes with her too. I am a sucker for punny sentiments.

Just Because...I miss your face!

I spent my Saturday cleaning up my craft space to make room to create. It is so good to be able to see the top of my desk and be able to get inky and scrappy. I am actually itching to color up another so it may just turn into a whole crafty weekend, Who needs to adult when you can just craft, am I right? lol

This cutie is called " One of those Days" by Saturated Canary. Her stamps are my fav! She is closing shop at the end of August and that makes me sad. I have to buy up as much as I can before then.

Off to get inky...have a great weekend!

You Make me Smile

I had so much fun coloring this awesome image and making this card. This is out of the comfort zone of my normal style. I really do not feel like I have a particular style, per say. But if I did this would be outside of that...lol Does that make sense? It has distressing, inking and glitter. What is not to love though, right? I like playing with different techniques and not always doing the same. I guess that is what art and creativity is all about.

This cute girl is a digi from Saturated Canary named Ellie Awesomesauce. And boy isn't she?

The image was colored with Copics. Please see below for a full detail of which ones:

A Cheerful Heart is Like Good Medicine~Proverbs 17:22

Is anyone even still out here in blogland?.....

I have not colored or created a card since my last blog post. That seems so weird to me. I used to create almost daily. A sweet friend sent me a handmade card for my birthday and it inspired me to get at it again. I started off slow with this small House Mouse image. I am definitely rusty. I do not think I should have started off my first image in a year with trying to create a shiny black compact. I got frustrated with that. It was a total fail but I was determined to press in and complete it come what may. I am glad that I forced myself to do so. My hubby was a big help with encouraging me to do so as well. I had the creative itch- I scratched it.. and now I want to do more. That is how these things work I suppose. Just needed to get the ol' juices flowing.
I am trying to set a goal to make a card for each coworker. I am hoping that will keep me moving forward. It sure was good to have inky fingers again and play with pretty paper!

I think I am going to color up another image now. Pray all goes well..lol

My Perfect Day

I think being by the ocean always turns out to be my perfect day. Something about it just always makes me feel good, even if the sun isn't shining. Yesterday was a gorgeous and I mean GORGEOUS day out. Hubby and I decided to drive to Galveston Island to have a dinner date. The island was all a buzz with surfers, swimmers, and couples walking down the beach hand in hand. We both love to people watch and it just made me smile to see so many people carefree and having fun.

Lately my hubby has been obsessed with Hawaiian shirts and all that he can find- the crazier the better. We found an amazingly cheap thrift store and he goes nuts each time we go and he can find the shirts. This thrift store is never more than $1.75 and goes down a quarter each day until Wednesday when it hits a quarter. Then it closes early and restocks for the $1.75 Thursday. You can't beat those prices.

Anyhow... I tell you all this to get to the point: Both of those things inspired this card. lol It is so funny to me where my inspiration comes from.

From where did your latest inspiration come?

The Absolute Blessing of today

Hey Crafters!

What is everyone up to today? I am sitting here trying to figure out what I want for lunch, browsing the net, and listening to the Big Brother Live Feeds that are playing on hubby's computer next to me. Does anyone else watch Big Brother? It is one of my all time favorite shows!
Anyway, I picked up this little cutie yesterday from Mo's Digital Pencil and had to color her up. She is adorable and different, and that is a combo I like..lol
I had fun with her. I am not super stoked about how her black hair came out but it was one of the last things I colored and I was not going  to scrap the whole thing and start over. Hair really is my kryptonite. I just can not seem to get it down like some people seem to do so effortlessly. I guess the only thing to remedy that is lots of practice. I grabbed a few more Mo images yesterday so I think I may do a bit more coloring today in between eating lunch and laundry loads. I would love to see what you are up to. Leave a comment below and let me know... I will come over and check it out.

Toodles!
Tracy

Over The Top!

It has been soooo long since I picked up a Copic, patterned paper, my ATG gun... you get the idea. I started my vacation, errr.....staycation yesterday and wanted to create!

I went looking through a few galleries online and then through my digi stamp collection to get inspiration. I landed on this super fun girl named Starla from Saturated Canary.

I was a bit rusty after not coloring or anything for 6 months... I started this image 3 times before I went with it and got a result I was semi pleased with. I need to never go that long without creating again...seriously. lol

She was totally screaming out to me to have cool funky and fun colors. Do you own her? If so I would love to see what you created with her. Please leave me a link to your creation in the comment section if you have played with her.

I used the following on the card:

Domo Arigato!! Mr. Roboto :)

I love to jot down ideas or thoughts on note pads or Post-it notes. I leave a trail of them all over the place..lol Well, I had one sitting on my desk forever telling me to make a Robot card with the sentiment" Domo Arigato"  which is Thank you very much in Japanese. I am sure that most of you are familiar with the 80's song by the band Styx.

I finally got around to wanting to create it. I went searching high and low ( or at least scouring digi sites..lol) for the perfect robot for my card. I found one that I thought was perfect, but the site was closed until after the new year fro Christmas break. :( ... Heart broken, I moved on until I found this one from Pink Cat Studio. He is quite a cutie, yes?

I used the following on the card:

Image- Boy Robot by Pink Cat Studio ( digi) + a sentiment I created in PS Elements
Stampin up Very Vanilla for card base
Stampin up Classic Stampin' Pad - Taken with Teal for graphic paper piece
Stampin up Jumbo wheel- *not sure of the name*  for the bigger background piece
Pixie Stix Glitter Tube - Lemonade
Spellbinders Nestabilities- Wonky squares
Sizzix embossing folder - RETRO CIRCLES BY TIM HOLTZ
Paper - MME breeze, Adornit Carolee's creations- Seasons ( August cut apart),& Adornit Bobby and Betty- run
gear stickers I had in my stash and I do not remember what brand they are.
Twine- Maya Road - saffron yellow
Copics used were C0, C1, C3, BG10, R20

I hope you enjoyed the card, and you can now enjoy this song to get it out of your head like I had too..lol

Here is the card that I made from inspiration I got from watching her....

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! :)

It seems the only posts I do lately are the Sassy Cheryl SMT ones. Hmmmmm I love participating in the challenge, but I need to get to blogging more often. lol

While all the crazy people were out braving the chaos to get the Black Friday deals.. I was home relaxing and crafting. I am going to milk my four day weekend for all it's worth..lol It does not happen often.

Anyway, I wanted to bust out some of my Stampin' Up stamps that a friend gave to me a year or so ago.. She gave me ALL of her stamps, papers, inks and crafty supplies. I was thoroughly blessed by it, I just have not really used the stamps much. As you all know I LOVE to color with my Copics, so I rarely ...ok almost NEVER just stamp. Today I was in a mood to do so. I then thought as I was finishing up.. Hey, now I have something for this week's SMT post, hehhehehehe. So I asked hubby to snap the pic and a few more...because for some reason I feel I have to have more than one photo to show what I am doing in my SMT posts, I am not sure why..lol Anyone else encounter that as well?

Here is the card I made:

I made it using the following stamps and punch:

And the following inks:

I had fun stepping out of my little box for a few..how about you? What did you do this lovely Friday?

Make a post about it and come over and share it with the rest of us... -------> HERE

Ciao,
Tracy S
