Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

depp1

Ok you know I really went in to the movie expecting to hate it .Depp on the previews was creeping me out.I normally do NOT like Tim Burton's stuff.I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised that I really enjoyed it . I think Depp was fabulous in this movie .It was a movie that made you feel like a kid again ..It made me want to jump in and swim in the river of chocolate ,ride in a big pink boat through a tunnel while sipping chocolate ,and frolic in an edible wonderland .It was very cool for me :) I recommend going to see it .I am disturbed however at the the previews they chose to show before the movie .Very inappropriate for young children in my opinion .

  3. I expected to not like it either. I am not big on remakes. But i loved it. I think Depp did an excellent job playing the part. I could of done with a diffrent ending. I am waiting for the original, i forget how it ends.

  5. I can't...I just can't do it...I just CAN NOT go see this movie. It is just WRONG that they remade it in my lifetime! :) The original and the book are sacred to me and my childhood memories.
Glad you liked it, though! :)

  6. Glad to hear you enjoyed the film. It is very entertaining and very well done.

I usually am not big on straight remakes either but when the remake is more true to the source material, which this one is, then I'm all for it. To me they are completely different movies. Burton chose to make a version somewhat closer to Dahl's book and I applaud him for that.
