Ok I am being lil Mrs. curious today ..I am curious to hear what song others have used as the "couples" song during the wedding reception ....Guppy and I just got married November 11th of 2004 ...So months and months of wedding preparation and song selection are still fresh on the brain .Plus his father and stepmother have decided to renew there vows ,and have an actual wedding this time .I just realized that is in like two weeks ....already ...geeezz this year is flying by .Anyway our song that we walked in to as they announced us was "Thank you " by Zeppelin, and our first dance song was "Beautiful in my eyes " by Joshua Kadison ...Has anyone else ever heard of this song ? I think it is a beautiful song ....of course I do ,it was played in my wedding ...lol duhhh .Seriously though ,from the first time I heard it I got goosebumps and I still do ..It is just one of those songs that make me go ...awwwweeeeee....lol and give me warm fuzzies ..:)
So if anyone else is willing to share I would love to hear from you .

My wedding song was "I wanna know what love is". The song had a longer run than my marriage unfortunately lol!!
ReplyDelete:( I am sad..I have no good story for this. I don't even have a first dance wedding song. Here is the short version..I got pregnant so we moved the wedding up..planned it waaaay fast...I told the girl who played the organ to "just pick a song" for the wedding and now I don't even know the name of it! (it was almost 15 years ago!) Our reception was in the fellowship hall of the church I grew up in...no dancing allowed. And that is the story. :)
ReplyDeleteNow, more people need to comment so I can live vicariously through you all!! :)
I had three!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe first was just a song we played in the Rolls as it took us to Waimea Falls Park in Oahu, alone, to get married: The Police, "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic".
The second was "Music of the Night" from Phantom, because my husband worked on Broadway.
The third was Marc Cohn's "True Companion".
Okay - ours was "Thats How Strong My Love Is" by the GREAT Otis Redding!
ReplyDeleteWe walked in to "Rock & Roll" by Gary Glitter because its the song they play when the NJ Devils score a goal (we are big hockey fans and used to be season ticketholders). And our first dance was to "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" by Frankie Valli. Its an oldie but a goodie - and I had picked everything else out for the wedding so I let him pick our songs.
ReplyDeleteJersey, I knew there was a reason we get along.... (even though you are a devils fan... ewwwww.... )
ReplyDeletei have yet to have the big "shebang", but i've already picked out our songs...
ReplyDeleteit's Love Moves by Julia Fordham, Out of my League by Stephen Speaks and the theme from Love Affair...
*sigh*
Great answers ..And you know if we walked out to our Hockey song it would have been "down with the sickness" by Disturbed ,That is what the Aeros walk out to ..It always gets us pumped for the game ..And Janie ..I love that song ...I also love Otis Redding ..I am glad I asked this question ...It is very interesting the wide range here ...very cool .
